The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Dr. Kristina Hudson, Executive Director of Secondary Education, as she introduced her sister and keynote speaker, Myra McKenzie-Harris. Myra shared her powerful story, speaking beautifully and eloquently about perseverance, self-advocacy, and the importance of support in achieving success.
Students had the opportunity to engage with a distinguished professional panel, asking thoughtful questions and gaining valuable insights. The panel featured Dr. Flanigan, Principal of George Junior High School and panel facilitator, Mr. and Ms. Trussell, proud alumni of the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, Dr. Colbert, former superintendent of Fayetteville Public Schools, and Mr. Long, a dedicated military representative.
